About the Job

The candidate will work with highly skilled, highly motivated engineers using agile methodologies based on Scrum Sprint and incorporating enterprise agile practices

As a software developer, you must deliver the solutions that directly contribute to our esteem customer’s success. This role requires a strong backend development skill preferably, automation with Ansible, Terraform, Python. You may be supporting existing features or developing a new feature or feature subset (design, code, test, and deploy) for a customer in our /customer environment. You must be able to research new technologies that you bring to the team to better our offerings.

Responsibilities: (Must have):

  • Must have clear understanding automation and orchestration principles.

  • Have the ability design modular, meticulous & tactful automation solutions

  • Leverage DevOps best practices with an agile development methodology.

  • Work closely with your peers and counterparts to design, package, deploy solutions leveraging the edge capabilities being developed by MCS Automation Team

  • Minimum 8+yrs of professional development experience (end-end SDLC methodology)

  • Thorough end to end implementation knowledge on DevOps Strategy

  • Minimum 5+yrs experience for at-least two of the following Scripting/Programming languages: Ruby, Bash, Java, SQL, PL/SQL.

  • 6+yrs of working experience on Python or Django.

  • Minimum 6+yrs of experience in Linux operating system.

  • Minimum 5+yrs of experience in Relational databases (Oracle, MySQL)

  • 3-6 years of experience with Ansible and Terraform

  • 3+yrs of experience in Jenkins

  • 4+yrs of experience in GIT is a must (GIT: Mastery in Git, Git branching strategies, GIT Lab).

  • Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Integration/ Deployment and tools like

  • Maven

  • Eclipse

  • Implement coding best practices.

  • Evaluate, design, and develop strategic, tactical automation solutions.

  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies.

  • Defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products.

  • Working knowledge on MS Visio.

  • Demonstrate knowledge on Public cloud platforms like OCI, AWS, Azure and GCP, etc.

  • Ability to quickly deliver multiple, inventive ideas that are fresh and simple while solving complex customer and business needs.

  • Flexible work times to enable working with team members in other time zones.

Additional Competencies (Nice to have):

  • Working with Jira, Confluence, ALM.

  • Knowledge one of the following Configuration management tools is a plus.

  • Chef

  • Puppet

  • Salt

  • Knowledge on BI Publisher, Apex, ADF (Oracle Application Development Framework) is a plus.

  • Knowledge on Kubernetes, Vault, Docker and containerization methods is a plus

  • Knowledge on Grafana.

  • Code Quality:

  • SonarQube or similar.

  • Must have demonstrated a curious, questioning mindset in previous work, along with a creative and analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Be a good team player and shows willingness to learn and implement new technologies as needed.

  • At least 5 years of experience with user experience, designing UI using HTML, CSS and Java script.

  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences.

Certifications Preferred if any

  • Cloud Certifications - OCI Certified Professional or Equivalent in AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Python Certifications

Education (Preferred Degree)

  • M.S / B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas is preferred.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
