This Job Matters as it empowers the Corporate Unit teams with the right set of resources to provide the digital experience to our BT colleagues just like we are providing to our customers. The role has large scope encompassing strategic planning, operational planning for cost transformation and optimisation of our application estate.

This role will be responsible for planning, execution, and benefits realisation of Digital Cost Transformation programs in Corporate Unit and enable the group shared finance functions in their optimisation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing complex SAP implementations and upgrades, particularly within the financial services.

Skills required for the job

• In-depth understanding of SAP’s strategy and market position

• Deep understanding of SAP modules relevant to financial services (e.g. SAP FICO, SAP S/4 HANA,BW,PI,GRC, SAP Gateway,CPI

• Profound understanding of Digital Transformation and its impact on customer business and the relevant vendors such as SAP

• Delivery: Strong SAP Technology delivery skillset with an understanding of building digital journeys across full lifecycle Learn, Buy, Get, Use, Pay and Serve and proven projects on transition and scaling up.

• Good understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices in SAP environment and knowledge of integration patterns and technologies within the SAP ecosystem and with SAP security frameworks and protocols

• Experience in executing large End-to-End Implementations and/or large Cloud Migrations of SAP Applications, HANA Database Migration, Upgrades, OS/DB Migrations, S/4HANA Conversion Projects etc.

• Proven track record as functional team lead and in successfully managing complex projects

• Understand SAP Licensing & Performance improvements

• Able to operate as control owner

• Ability to develop strong, collaborative working relationships across the business to drive delivery of the Group commitments.

• Negotiation skills as role holder will be required to collaborate with external SAP vendors & partners

• Hands on experiences of Scaled Agile delivery frameworks, ways of working, methods and tools including, experiences in Six Sigma and Lean thinking.

• Have experience in using Programme and Portfolio Management tools such as JIRA

• Showcased expertise on a large-scale project or a specific piece of work or led a project outside of the core areas of your expertise.

• Collaborated on a new project with a recognised expert.

• Led a cost reduction effort.

• Allocated and directed a budget for part of the business.

• Handled a difficult people issue well – redundancy, disciplinary, re-organisation.

• Communicated BT's business strategy to multiple audiences.

• Volunteered for extra responsibility such as project team involvement/leadership.

• Managed a team of employees from different locations or regions.
