Your Opportunity Apply your extensive technical expertise and architectural skills to evolve and scale the data platform. You will solve difficult problems in distributed, highly available micro-services and virtualized infrastructure, maximising database, data warehouse, and analytics. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a strong back-end engineer with a focus on data management, someone with a passion for solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. This is a meaningful role, so we’re looking for a developer who can deliver product features on-time and with high quality and can partner with other engineers to deliver high quality services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the design and implementation of sophisticated software systems

  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design specifically within a cloud environment

  • Strong Knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL processes, Cloud Computing, Analytics concepts

  • Experience in developing subject areas for Oracle Cloud Analytics

  • Proven experience with a Programming language PLSQL is a must.

  • Sound fundamentals in coding, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

  • Proven experience with a major Programming language such as Java, Python, Go, C# or C++ is a plus.

  • Interest in problem solving.

  • Experience with massively scalable systems is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Experience with Cloud Platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus.

  • Experience with enterprise-class RDBMS (Oracle, SQL*server), Cloud Data warehouse (Snowflake/Redshift).

  • Experience building distributed cloud services.

  • Experience in Cloud Analytics

Responsibilities

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will build entire services and act as a leader on your team. You will be writing exceptional code and tests, mentoring others on your team and establishing high-quality standards, driving design and architecture of your service, and play a key role in planning, execution, and operational readiness. As an engineering leader, we expect you to set the standard for the entire engineering organization – whether through best engineering practices, operational excellence, development process or shared code contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering delivery of a service or product.

  • Work closely with architects, product and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality.

  • Drive engineering efforts and provide direction other members of the team.

  • Collaborate with other product teams.

  • Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent the team’s ability to implement.
