Amazon Manager - Risk Investigations, EM SX Product in Bengaluru, India

Emerging Marketplaces Seller Experience team (EM-SX) is looking for Manager, Risk Investigations to lead the seller verification and abuse prevention. Our mission is to understand and verify exactly who we are doing business with and apply the right verification processes at various stages of seller lifecycle. We specialize in obsessing over bad actors to identify their abuse trends while making sure we don’t impact good sellers. Our team designs and implements products, tools and technology innovations to detect bad actors and protect customers.

We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, hard-working, and creative candidate to join the EM-SX team. The candidate will be a proactive problem solver, have an extremely high level of customer focus and a passion for decision making that helps to detect and prevent abuse. You will be responsible for conducting regular audits, dive-deep to identify emerging abuse patterns, and work towards addressing them. You would be required to deliver results under time constraints, execute repeatable processes and have good communication skills. Operating in a rapidly changing environment will require the candidate to be comfortable dealing with ambiguous, new and challenging situations. You would also be leading team of investigation specialists, managing individual and team performance expectations and goals.

In addition to being responsible for achieving and exceeding team’s defined metrics through sustainable change or process improvement. You will be expected to participate in strategic planning, project road mapping activities of the team.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive intelligence initiatives targeting new and emerging bad actors abuse trends

  • Partner with cross functional teams across Amazon for collaboration on fraud risks and investigations

  • Lead ambiguous and undefined problems to resolution in constantly changing, multi team-based environment, work backwards from customer needs to deliver high quality outputs

  • Own and/or manage high severity escalation dive deep with quick turn-around

  • Manage team of investigation specialists - Identify improvements in processes while maintaining healthy service levels, Develop measurable benchmarks and reporting to evaluate team direction and progress.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of operational and/or retail management experience

  • 2+ years of team management experience

  • Experience working in abuse prevention/risk mining/loss prevention

  • Analytical thinking with a natural tendency to use data in decision-making and prioritization

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (MS Excel, Word) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Develop and own project success metrics, deep dive on KPIs, troubleshoot reports and multiple data sources.

  • Proven ownership and bias for action; willing to move quickly and decisively to resolve an issue.

  • High level of integrity and discretion to handle confidential information

  • Experience with e-commerce related processes and programs.
