Amazon Communication Manager, IN Stores Communications in Bengaluru, India

Description

Amazon India is looking to hire an experienced Communications/PR professional to be part of our India Stores Communications team based out of Bangalore.

As Amazon.in continues to scale up its presence in India, we are looking for dynamic communications/PR professional to work across new and traditional media, with cutting edge campaigns engaging different stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and implementing communications/PR campaigns that tell compelling stories about Amazon’s products and services. This role is ideal for a self-starter, dynamic, proactive individual with excellent writing skills, sound understanding of the media landscape and the ability to multi-task.

Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for measuring, maintaining and improving the quality of our outreach, in the process working closely with internal business teams and stakeholders. You must have the ability to work on tight deadlines and handle multiple campaigns simultaneously. The role requires the person to manage and influence, needing to be completely hands-on when required. Candidates who think on their feet, delight in innovative yet effective solutions should apply.

Key job responsibilities

• Act as a Comms/PR business partner to business teams; Build and execute Communications/PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals

• Oversee and manage all strategic press coverage for these areas and manage reactive media inquiries; build excellent relationships with key media

• Provide strategic counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing a number of disciplines

• Lead/support strategic launches around new shopping innovations and experiences

• Seek to understand Amazon’s core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices

• Write press releases; pitch and secure top media, including print, broadcast and online outlets

• He / She will be responsible for working with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, business heads, category managers, marketing teams, social media teams to develop and execute communications strategies categories and businesses, The candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to drive successful program launches

• Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities

• This role involves influencing peers and stakeholders in other functions to achieve the operational and PR goals assigned

• Managing budgets and delivering clear, results-focused reports

• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively

• This role involves travel to various non-metro geographies in India and engaging with local media

• The person will be point of contact of the specific events, business and/or category and program leadership and downstream teams and must therefore be comfortable and confident liaising with multiple teams and senior leaders

• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field

  • 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

  • Experience in marketing communications and supporting ATL campaigns for a corporate brand will help

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Skilled in ensuring a collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and clear formal and informal communication with members of various teams.

  • Attention to detail and capability to work on multiple projects in parallel

  • Self-driven and ability to be both strategic and execution oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past Experience of working on consumer brands

  • Past Experience of undertaking PR campaigns in non-metros geographies in India as well as strong social media experience

  • Handled agencies, budgets, and managed teams

  • Experience with e-commerce/retail/fintech/B2B/process operations would be an advantage
