Job Summary
Clinical Application Trainers lead both formal and informal training sessions for designated clinical roles related to the use of Sanford’s electronic medical record (EMR) and other related clinical applications. Maintain a standardized curriculum to assure training plans are consistently met. Utilize Technology Solutions and Clinical Informatics staff as resources to best meet training participant's needs. Responsible to lead both individual and in-person or remote classroom training for a variety of clinical roles. Provide in-person and remote support as assigned. Participate in a variety of other EMR related activities (such as data collection, data entry, maintenance of training curriculum and classrooms and other support functions) as assigned.
Updates and maintains applicable Sanford Success Center courses, training curriculum, and training environments. Will work directly with EMR Principal Trainer team to coordinate updates and new functionality. Direct and organize Principal Trainers in the Clinical Application pillar.
Excellent communication skills, ability to lead classroom training sessions, and ability to adapt to a variety of training settings. A willingness to maintain active knowledge in area of specialty in order to maintain current clinical practice and end user perspectives. May require some periodic day or overnight travel.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in clinical field or at least 3 years of clinical experience in their specialty required.
Previous experience within Information Technology and Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) is preferred.
Depending upon location, be licensed/registered/certified in a clinical field. Information Technology (IT) certification should be obtained within six months of date of hire. IT certification must be completed within three attempts of certification testing.
Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) application certification and truth should be obtained within six months of hire date. Renewal guidelines per discipline.
