Knowledge Management, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Cloud Engineer to support both our physical data center infrastructure and cloud services. These positions require a versatile skill set which bridges on-premises data center management with cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
Required Skills
- 3-5+ years of information technology experience, with a mix of data center and cloud expertise
- Strong experience with Azure and cloud architectures including EntraID, Intune, and other Azure native services and defender for end point
- Hands-on experience with data center hardware, including servers, networking equipment, and storage systems
- Experience developing, configuring, and managing cloud-based systems to support some enterprise applications
- Technical competency in IaaS, PaaS, and DaaS
- Familiarity with data center operations
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
Data Center Management and Operations
- Oversee and maintain physical data center infrastructure
- Manage server and network equipment installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Conduct regular audits and maintain inventory of data center assets
- Support and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment
- Deploy and configure Azure cloud resources (e.g., Virtual Machines, Data Lake Storage, SQL)
- Configure and secure Azure resources using compliance management tools
- Deploy and configure secured infrastructure
- Design and implement solutions that integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure services
- Manage data replication and synchronization between on-premises systems and cloud environments
- Optimize workload distribution between local and cloud resources
- Ensure seamless connectivity and security between on-premises and cloud environments
Cross-functional responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data center operations
- Stay current with emerging technologies in data center management
- Help and work with junior team members in data center operations and best practices
Candidates must have experience and comfort working in a small team environment. This is a small team of FTE's supporting this program, therefore, teamwork, communications, and the ability (desire) to wear multiple hats is required.
