Together, we won't stop! In this role you will be helping to support and improve the efficacy of T-Mobile's Cyber Operations teams. As a Sr. Engineer in Cybersecurity , you will lead efforts on the team in the areas of applying statistical and advanced analytics combined with cybersecurity knowledge to surface trends, reveal detection and capability gaps, and solve a wide range of challenges to create real security value from all the cybersecurity operations telemetry data. Job Responsibilities Lead and coordinate data analytics efforts on the team Processing, correlating, and performing data analysis/modeling on large structured and unstructured cybersecurity operations telemetry data to identify cybersecurity threats, gaps, and trends. Providing guidance and mentoring to engineers to ensure consistency and continually improve abilities around data engineering and analytics. Developing advanced analytical solutions and novel methods for detecting new cybersecurity threats. Applying data to identify operational improvement opportunities for Cyber Operations teams. Producing useful visualization dashboards for Cyber Operations teams. Design and implement a data modeling process for cybersecurity platforms Collaborate with multi-functional security teams to solve security challenges Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by management as needed. Education Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative subject area or Cybersecurity or equivalent work experience Work Experience 4-7 years of experience in a cybersecurity focused analytics role Experience leading projects and mentoring team members Experience working with data to improve cybersecurity defenses Experience working with large, diverse datasets (100's of terabytes) Experience with cyber defense operations functions Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of security standard processes in large-scale environments Strong understanding of security logging and alerting solutions Strong communication and presentation skills with large and small audiences of diverse technical and security backgrounds Knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of cybersecurity defense Experience leading projects around data engineering and analytics Experience mentoring team members Experience working with data to improve cybersecurity defenses Experience with common scripting and query languages Experience working with large, diverse datasets (100's of terabytes) Experience with cyber defense operations functions Experience developing visualizations of data trends with a cybersecurity focus Self-motivated and with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks independently and under tight deadlines Always act with tact and integrity, and work with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner Licenses and Certifications Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) CISSP and/or CCSK and/or CCSP and/or CISA/CISM certification a plus (Preferred) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) (Preferred) Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (Preferred) * At least 18 years of age * Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel: Travel Required (Yes/No):Yes DOT Regulated: DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No):No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No):No Washington Pay Range
