Amazon Senior Program Manager, Air Network Planning, AIR Supply Chain and Analytics in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon Air is looking for a Senior Program Manager with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills along with strong record of delivering results to support our team in building the Amazon Air network in North America (NA). The team is comprised of leaders with in-depth experience of the Amazon supply chain, commercial airline networks, and transportation planning/optimization who are passionate about taking the Amazon Air network to the next level, enabling increasingly faster deliver speeds on more items at lower cost for Amazon customers. The Senior PM will own network design, planning, implementation, and reporting of air transportation solutions, collaborating extensively with leaders across the organization, including senior operational and functional leaders. Key job responsibilities

  • Own the planning, organizing, and execution of air transportation solutions that achieve reliable, fast, affordable shipping for customers

  • Partner with key functional stakeholders across the company to lead, support, and influence innovation across the Amazon Air network

  • Build strong partnerships with operational leaders to identify and eliminate constraints

  • Navigate through ambiguity; manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the cross-functional processes, and delivering on commitments

  • Innovate to improve customer outcomes, reduce carbon emissions, and decrease the end-to-end supply chain cost

A day in the life

While no two days at Amazon Air are the same, a "day in the life" of the Sr PM can include:

  • deep-diving volume flow patterns and recommending continuous improvement changes to our network

  • evaluating flight and truck schedules to balance speed, reliability, and cost

  • summarizing recent performance data, wins, and opportunities as part of a quarterly leadership document review

  • learning (or teaching others) about Amazon optimization and planning tools and systems

  • inventing and automating new ways to look at data that helps us build a better network for customers

  • participating in long term strategic planning sessions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Extensive experience in retrieving, processing and synthesizing data to drive critical business decisions

  • High proficiency in written and oral communications, including producing documents and presentations for leaders

  • High attention to detail, including proven ability to manage competing priorities, simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external organizations to achieve corporate goals, including the ability to influence upward as necessary

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
