Amazon Program Manager, NA Standards & Procedures, Workplace Health & Safety Governance and Compliance in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) professional to join the Global Standards & Procedures (S&P) team to play a critical role in creating, implementing, and reviewing WHS programs ( procedures and processes) that will serve as the foundation of all Amazon operations in North America. A strong background in health and safety management is required, specifically in regulations governing high-risk operations. Experience in varying Amazon operations and business unit processes is needed. Canadian experience is a plus.

The successful candidate will work across teams to gain alignment, develop, and execute a common plan across multiple stakeholders. This requires working effectively with all business owners to ensure the delivery and execution of WHS programs. Cross-team coordination, project management, and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are essential. To work effectively in the role, the candidate would be required to develop a deep understanding of the organization’s commitment to serving our workforce, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the organization in order to solve complex business problems and implement fit-for-purpose programs to deliver the highest standards. The successful candidate is also one that has a record of accomplishment delivering success in high performing business organizations, and one who has program management experience.

This role is part of the Global WHS S&P team and will support all NA WHS networks to align with Worldwide and Regional WHS S&P Goals.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver medium to large, cross-functional WHS procedures that serve major parts of the business. These may also be global in nature.

  • Develop, review, approve and improve internal policies and procedures in the respect of the countries WHS legal and Amazon Global Standards requirements.

  • Implement and track WHS programs and provide execution support to field operations.

  • Drive WHS programs and best practice standardization at both Regional and Global level.

  • Recommend improvements to programs scoping, building, testing and deployment across the company.

  • Partner with key stakeholders such as RME, Procurement, SLeD, Compliance Assurance, Audits, Legal, etc in the development and continued improvement of high-risk operations procedures.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
