Your Role and Responsibilities

Apptio is looking for a Lead Product Analyst with a passion for transforming data and information into meaningful and actionable insights to influence key product and business decisions. You should be an excellent communicator and simplifier, a strong team player, and a self-starter with a bias for action. Above all, you should be analytical and excel at working with large data sets, resourceful at gathering information, and attuned to market insights to answer key business questions.

What we want you to do:

• Design, analyze, and maintain reports and dashboards for the business including but not limited to customer acquisition and expansion, cost and margin, and product engagement

• Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and other functions to ensure all members of the Apptio team have timely and accurate understanding of how our products are being used and how they can be improved.

• Analyze and simplify large complex data sets to influence the operating model of Apptio through timely and insightful data.

• Analyze market opportunities, trends, and existing customer whitespace for new and existing products.

• Analyze ongoing business performance of product portfolio, draw meaningful and impactful business analytics, identify opportunities for improvement in order to drive a greater impact for customers.

• Gain a deep understanding of our competitive marketplace through intensive research across costing, planning, and cloud optimization

• Be scrappy and resourceful to gather and collect data and insights that will help us make more informed product investment decisions

• Support product roadmap, pricing and packaging decisions with data-driven analysis and insights

• Understand strategic product and business performance initiatives and translate them into data requirements

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5 or more years of relevant experience in product/data analytics, consulting, or similar capacity.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL experience, Salesforce, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated capacity and passion for analytics and reporting with a strong technical aptitude.

• Self-starter capable of driving clarity in ambiguity

• Results-driven with a bias for action with excellent verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across departments

• Strong project and time management and organization skills

• Capable of familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly

The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
