Summary

The Director of Threat and Incident Management (DTIM) is responsible for collaboration and support to strategic development and evolution of the threat and incident management capability for a global security operations program which provides multi-disciplinary services (to include physical security, environmental health & safety, logistics, training, budget and finance to name a few) to the client's datacenters as part of a complex, multi $100M global client account. The DTIM serves as the primary interface for Securitas with a key client representative leading threat and incident management for the account. As part of their support role to the client, the DTIM will in turn guide Securitas' strategic direction in the execution of threat and incident management for the account through direct influence of the processes and procedures, evolving documentation and ISO compliance in those processes/procedures as well as managing and aligning Securitas and client goals as the program continues to scale. The DTIM must have a solid understanding of the client datacenter program, with the ability to effectively collaborate, advise, make recommendations and adapt to changing needs and priorities (both with the client and within the Securitas Program).

As the inaugural person in this role, strong interpersonal skills will be key. There will be a focus on developing excellent customer service and trust with key client SME(s) and further refining and defining the position's remit as it evolves thorugh both experience and further gap analysis in partnership with the client.

Although the role will not begin as a people manager role, we expect the candidate to have people management experience as this role has the potential to evolve into a people management role.

Essential Functions

  1. In collaboration with client SME(s) - examines and assesses global threat and incident management policies and procedures to be executed by Securitas on behalf of the client.

  2. Drives programmatic assessment (collaboratively with client) with a critical focus on evolution / evolvement as the Program continues to scale. ISO compliance and document standardization (quality control) is a key focus.

  3. Develop, evolve and nurture client relationships across all pillars as part of the necessary engagement and execution across the global regions.

  4. Creates and delivers executive level presentations and reports on business strategy, insights, and execution to client and Securitas Program leadership (senior management).

  5. Analytical and data driven decision making will be key, necessitating development of measures of effectiveness for assess performance/success.

  6. In partnership with Client SME, drives strategic leadership and critical thinking in threat and incident management to include incident response and crisis command

  7. Leads business meetings and gives updates to the client on projects.

  8. Strong communication and collaboration with internal Securitas Program stakeholders (SecOps, Shared Services, EHS) to ensure alignment and to drive awareness on projects, schedules and to minimize unintended consequences on these partners.

  9. Evaluates current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing activities and functions relative to security and EHS, with continuous process improvement at the forefront of decision making.

  10. Utilizes problem-solving skills to identify and resolves issues.

  11. While not initially required for this role, anticipate position evolution and growth to necessitate experience in managing personnel with the potential for scale across the regions (i.e. global program oversight with potential future global personnel management).

  12. Direct involvement in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.

  13. Direct and coordinate with client and Securitas program leadership team to drive alignment of security/EHS functions activities related to new and progressive threat and incident management project efforts.

  14. Actively seeks and creates opportunities for collaboration across client, partners, and internal groups to drive long-term, scalable solutions.

  15. Direct involvement in driving governance and compliance management (including oversight for creation of written technical governance and programmatic standards). As the program evolves, ensuring training, development, and quality assurance (compliance) likewise evolves and aligns will become an expectation of this role.

Minimum Hiring Standards

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone.

  • Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).

Must hold or be able to obtain a valid driver's license or equivalent.

Must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is located.

Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Must have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED.

Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, criminal justice, law enforcement, security or related field and 10-15 years of progressive roles in risk, incident management, security-related roles involving risk and/or incident management, contract security, or account management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a senior-level leadership position directing a security program.

  • 5+ years of managing people.

  • Global experience preferred.

  • Datacenter experience preferred.

  • Experience with client-facing roles requiring regular engagement and progressive relationship building preferred.

  • Experience developing and/or overseeing physical security incident response and emergency response protocols (ex: procedures for bomb threats, suspicious package, active shooter scenarios, protest/civil unrest, emergency failover, emergency lockdowns, hostile takeover or hostage situations, etc)

  • Experience in Incident Command System (ICS) protocols (ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, 800 or international/industry equivalents) preferred

  • Experience working with intelligence fusion centers, law enforcement, and emergency response organizations preferred

  • Experience preparing and delivering executive briefings and situation reports (SITREPs)

  • Experience with document management systems and hierarchical documentation (ISO 9001) preferred

  • Experience with developing threat level designations and associated response protocols preferred.

Special Requirements

  • Able to travel (international or domestic, as required) approximately 25% of the time or more, occasionally with limited notice.

  • Able to work evening or weekend hours when required, such as during an emergency event or crisis.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills, including planning, organizing, delegating, problem solving, training, coaching, and praising as well as collaborating with fellow leaders when constructive feedback for their staff is necessary.
