Data Engineer III wanted by American Express Global Business Travel, Egencia in Bellevue, WA. Designing, proposing and deploying cloud database systems, leveraging AWS managed database services to support Egencia’s industry leading corporate travel platform; Consulting with application teams on database technology selection, schema design, database coding, and database performance tuning; Developing best practices for deploying, configuring and monitoring high availability database systems within AWS; and Communicating and collaborating with Egencia’s application teams to drive Database Engineering initiatives.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field plus five (5) years of experience in job offered or related occupation. Must have four (4) years experience developing and engineering relational database technologies on premise and in the cloud; four (4) years experience with procedural database language, SQL ETL coding, database modeling and database scripting languages including any one or a combination of Python or JavaScript; four (4) years experience using windows and Linux operating systems; two (2) years experience working with and building Amazon database services including any one or a combination of Postgres, RDS or DynamoDB; and two (2) years experience working with and configuring database monitoring tools and job alert controls for enhancing and optimizing database cost and performance. May work from home within commuting distance to office. Salary range: $188,698-$203,000.
