Division Information

Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF commercial vehicles are known for offering industry-leading reliability and durability, premium fit and finish, and innovative technologies. Three technology trends will shape the future of the global truck industry – autonomous driving, electrification and connected vehicles. The Business Analyst role represents an opportunity to participate in a wide array of responsibilities that will have a meaningful impact on PACCAR’s future success.

Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Corporate Development team is responsible for mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning, investor relations, sustainability, and the PACCAR Foundation. The Corporate Development Business Analyst is a generalist role with the opportunity to contribute in each of these areas.

In strategic planning and acquisitions, the Business Analyst tracks developments at PACCAR’s competitors, researches growth opportunities, strategic initiatives and potential acquisition targets, and prepares periodic industry and economic reports for PACCAR senior executives.

The Business Analyst also provides support to PACCAR investor relations by identifying trends in equity research reports about PACCAR, analyzing interactions with investors, and performing targeting analysis to identify new investors. Many investors are interested in PACCAR’s sustainability strategy, and this role may support these efforts as well.

The PACCAR Foundation is the company’s charitable giving function. The Business Analyst will participate in the administration of foundation grant requests, interact with nonprofits, and assist in the preparation for Foundation Board of Directors meetings.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Create and publish a weekly summary of significant events in our industry

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly truck industry reports for senior executives

  • Research and analyze competitors’ financial/operating data and global truck markets

  • Create presentations for senior management and Board of Directors meetings

  • Use external data sources to perform market, industry and investor relations analysis (including IR Insight, FactSet, Polk/IHS Global Insight, ACT Research, Moody’s, PitchBook)

  • Support PACCAR Investor Relations, including reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing equity research on an ongoing basis, assisting with the quarterly earnings release process, analyzing interactions with investors and assisting with investor targeting analysis

  • Support the PACCAR Foundation, including managing grant requests and assisting in the preparation of Board meeting materials

  • Assist the Director of Sustainability in responding to various Environmental, Social and Governance surveys and other sustainability projects

  • Support Corporate Development in evaluating growth opportunities including mergers, investments and other strategic initiatives; preparation of company profiles, and valuation support

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Interest in PACCAR and its competitors’ products and markets

  • Understanding of accounting, finance, and business strategy concepts. Proficiency in finance theory is a plus

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to draw succinct conclusions from complex data, while sometimes navigating ambiguity

  • Strong work ethic; complete projects with a high sense of urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Self-directed

  • Excellent business writing and communication skills

  • Maturity to interact with all levels of management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a corporate environment

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related field is required.

The salary range for the Corporate Development Business Analyst role is $65,500 - $98,300 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
