Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description

We are currently searching for a mechanical designer/detailer to join our team near State College, PA. The successful candidate will have prior experience designing and detailing steel projects using CAD. This role involves working on a variety of steel and metal projects and will have a significant impact from day one.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail steel projects using CAD software.

• Work on miscellaneous steel projects as well as larger steel projects.

• Manage project details including Bills of Material (BOM).

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.

• Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) for project management.

• Ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications.

Essential Skills

• Experience in detailing and designing steel projects.

• Proficiency with CAD software; experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of mechanical design principles and techniques.

• Experience working in a metals shop or fabricator environment.

• Ability to manage projects and create detailed BOMs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with BIM software.

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

This role requires working both in an office and on the shop floor, with approximately 80% office work and 20% floor work. The company is a small, family-run organization with a close-knit team. Dress code and working conditions will vary between the office and the shop floor. The role offers the opportunity to have a large impact from the very first day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
