We are the Windows and Web Experiences team at Microsoft, working on large scale search, browse and content technologies across Bing, Windows and the Edge browser. As a team, we are passionate about building highly engaging & accessible products for all our users, and are actively looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can not only contribute to our existing platform, but help drive best practices for agile and robust software development. 

Some of the hiring teams are (but not limited to):

Maps team is delivering state of the art tech in large data manipulation, optimizing route search and ETA algorithms, and enhancing location-search services. We also power the Enterprise Maps APIs offered to 3rd party developers. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and data analysts to create intuitive, accurate, and visually stunning maps. Join the Measurement & Verification Team to build technical solutions that show how Microsoft Advertising aids advertisers to achieve their goals while protecting user privacy. You will join a tight knit, globally distributed team of engineers and product leaders at the cutting edge of novel solutions for demonstrating ad impact through data engineering. As our senior team member in Serbia, you will play a key role to develop our team culture, coach your colleagues, and expand our team over time.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team and peers every day on solving complex design, coding, troubleshooting and operational challenges.

  • Driving features, projects and open ended problems toward resolution.

  • Increase the team's capacity and capability by sharing experience and knowledge.

  • Continuously evaluate engineering processes and practices affecting the team with the goal of eliminating inefficiencies and increasing the overall team effectiveness.

  • Passionately drive these improvements both within the team and across the Identity organization if necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience of system programming.

  • Previous experience of software development in a product group.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in coding and technical communication

  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills

  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including, but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell

  • Experience in owning a responsibility of components or feature areas

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering discipline, or 4 years of equivalent software engineering work experience

  • The ability to multi-task while balancing short-term and long-term tasks

  • Strong customer focus and data driven approach

  • End-to-end Delivery and Innovation

  • Adaptability in fast paced environment

  • Great collaboration and team-player skills
