Team/Role Overview
The Cross Border Data Clearance (CBDC) team drives Cross Border data transfers in the firm to ensure protection of Citi’s data in compliance with local laws, rules and regulations. Citi’s Cross-Border Data Clearance (CBDC) unit is responsible for facilitating a holistic, end-to-end compliance review of regional and country specific data transfer requirements.
As the Cross Border Data Clearance Country Manager, you should have a solid background in business operations and an understanding of risk management at Citi. This is a highly intensive role and the ability to interact with management from across different levels of the organization is a must.
What You’ll Do
Review projects / initiatives that come in from across all businesses within Citi that have cross border data transfer implications and work with Business, Legal / ICRM contacts in the countries to help the business gain cross border data transfer approval.
Provide materials and support to local contacts and ICRM in local regulatory interactions.
Develop close working relationships within the Cross Border Data Clearance Team and Country Contacts (Compliance, Risk, Third Party Management, Information Security Officer, etc.)
Identify process improvement opportunities, analyse reporting trends that indicate risks and bottlenecks in the country process, escalate issues and concerns through appropriate channels.
Troubleshoot, track, and investigate data related issues. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and construct high-level information details/metrics.
Collaborate with regional/global businesses and further raises awareness of the CBDC Program and its Processes.
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Collaborate to drive integrated transformation initiatives to streamline and simplify cross-border data clearance: ensuring swift and compliant transfers.
Design and develop processes to track and monitor process adherence, operational excellence, Transformation/strategic initiatives, including identifying and managing interdependencies between programs, ensuring closure and change management.
What We’ll Need From You
Credibility as a subject matter expert and experience of dealing with issues that have a high impact at all levels of the organization – domains include Internal Controls, Audit, Operational Risk, Regulatory management, Third party governance, outsourcing, Privacy Compliance and Data transfers.
Experience of working with key country level regulators, industry associations and the ability to identify emerging compliance issues and themes.
An ability to influence senior business leaders on all compliance risk-related matters affecting the business.
Ability to critically interpret regulations / policies / standards and convert them into logical procedures and control documents.
Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials. Highly organized and detail oriented. Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities.
A strong communicator who can partner with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to organize senior-level meetings. Prepare and give effective presentations and have the ability to have detailed communication with various stakeholders.
Proven ability to be a self-starter and to manage multiple projects with stringent timelines while maintaining strict attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint and office tools.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in Financial Services, made up of operations experience in a relevant functional area to include financial services, insurance, banking, investment, information technology, or other related operational area that supports risk/compliance initiatives within the business.
