Job Description Summary

This role will work cross functionally with product management, technical / design leaders, architects, and a team of software and applications engineers located globally to create software development and release strategy. This role acts as the software Agile Program Manager or software Agile coach for the software team and will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies related to software release management. He / She will represent the global software engineering team in the program core team.

Job Description

Responsibility:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  1. Release Train Engineer (Agile Program Manager) responsibilities in Scaled Agile Framework based software development and ensure Agile ceremonies are followed

  2. Facilitates software release planning / software program increment readiness and planning events.

  3. Works with product management, product owners, architects, and business owners to help

assure strategy and execution alignment.

  1. Ensure program quality practices with the teams and bring visibility into key quality metrics

  2. Facilitates scrum of scrums to assist in program execution and program increment tracking.

  3. Resolve and/or escalates impediments. Manage risks and dependencies.

  4. Drives continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops.

  5. Ensuring that the product development process abides to the Engineering Quality Procedures,

Phased Review Discipline (PRDx) and regulatory needs of the applicable markets.

  1. Ensure continuous integration of software through CI framework

  2. Coordinate Software release activities.

11.Develop and execute software configuration management strategy.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years of software design & development experience working with cross-functional teams in an industry environment. Agile software development experience Working experience in C/C++ and Java programming, scripting (Python/Perl/Shell) in a Linux / UNIX environment. Experience in all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle in an industry environment. Demonstrated ability to build lasting cross-functional relationships, including strong influential and communication skills Demonstrated understanding/experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle

Desired Characteristics

  1. Masters Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Bio Medical)

  2. Experience in leading projects with global teams using Agile development methodology

  3. Demonstrated experience as Release Train Engineer and/or scrum master in Agile software development

  4. Experience with Clearcase, Git or Perforce configuration management

  5. Experience with Continuous integration experience with Electric Commander or Jenkins.

  6. Demonstrated experience with medical device product software development and design history file.

  7. Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues

  8. Demonstrated skills in proactively identifying, facilitating, and driving closure of a product/program

  9. Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes (QMS, ePDM)

  10. Attention to detail and ability work independently toward timely completion of a variety of assignments
