Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer 2 (MSN Livesite Engineering team) in Beijing, China

The MSN Livesite Engineering team is dedicated to ensuring the health and security of MSN's services. Our primary mission is to develop tools and methods for maintaining service stability and responding quickly to incidents.

We focus on maintaining the safety of MSN's services, including tasks like DDoS Detection, and assist MSN service teams in the timely repair and recovery from various incidents. Additionally, we strive to build a strong livesite culture that enhances overall awareness of livesite issues and drives continuous improvements across MSN services.

We are currently looking for an SDE II to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with team members to develop tools, analyze data, and implement solutions that enhance the security and reliability of MSN services. Responsibilities

  • Develop tools/services to help improve the stability of MSN services.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of tools to improve overall health of MSN services.

  • Use engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle to establish maintainable, reliable, and secure tools.

  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-team colleagues in various roles to build livesite culture.

  • Work in a culture of continuous improvement, adaptation, reflection, and growth.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields

  • 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Python, C/C++, C#, Java, Scala or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of database platforms such as SQL Server, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.
