Position Summary

Nestlé Research plays a key role in unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life by performing fundamental science at the highest level to accelerate the translation of discoveries into breakthrough innovations, helping address consumer trends and global challenges. To achieve this goal, Nestlé Research bring together scientific expertise through an organization comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Packaging Sciences (to learn more about Nestlé Research at our website (https://www.nestle.com/randd) ).

Nestlé Research’s presence in China started in 2008. As part of the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), the NIHS China Hub is positioned to advance innovative science-based solutions in China and Asia-Pacific along the whole life journey, in close collaboration with Nestlé Research and the broader Nestlé community.

As a Senior Research Specialist, you will work on research projects to explore nutrition and nutrients for specific health outcomes, to drive translation of research into benefit-driven product innovation and claims. You are going to closely work with different R&D units, business teams, and technical functions as ONE TEAM to make discovery and innovation happen.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Research Specialist

• Lead the creation of science concepts around nutrition and bioactives that address specific consumer health needs

• Drive research projects to achieve impactful scientific discoveries towards new nutritional products and their use

• Translate research results into differentiating innovation through products, communications, and / or claims

• Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders to drive decision-making and strengthen our scientific leadership

What will make you successful

• Passionate about applying science and knowledge to improve people’s health through nutrition

• Strong and broad background in research methods

• Competence in creating meaningful research concepts, designing, and executing research plan

• Team-oriented attitude, fostering leadership to guide cross-cultural team to achieve expected outcomes

• Excellent communication, organization and influencing skills

• Agile and entrepreneurial mindset with creative problem-solving skills

• PhD in fields of Nutrition, Health, Food or Life Science with a minimum of 6-8 years post-graduate experience in food, beverage, and nutrition industry

• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
