International School of Beijing ES PE Teaching Assistant in Beijing, China
JOB GOAL/PURPOSE:
To assist the PE teachers in achieving student learning objectives that promotes student success within and outside the classroom.
PE TA will:
maintain and prepare equipment in storage room
book facilities with activities office for all ESPE teachers
book set up of equipment in various facilities with Sodexo
maintain and update weekly schedule (on white board in ESPE Office)
assist in classes as needed
document and resources preparation and collection
liase with TA in MSPE and HSPE
attend ESPE meetings
help with Dragon Olympics as directed
cover lunch-time duty as needed
prepare equipment and resources for ES Teachers who are leading events and activities
PE TA Expectations:
· Understands and exhibits good judgment in interpersonal and human relations with colleagues, students and community
Develop rapport with students
Promote positive self-concept in students.
Use communication skills and conflict resolution strategies to promote positive relationships with students, staff members, and parents.
· Demonstrates understanding of rules and regulations covering confidential and sensitive issues.
Handle sensitive and confidential documents, communications, incidents, etc., with due discretion and in a conscientious manner.
Maintain confidentiality of students’ grades, attendance and behavior records, and files.
· Observes International School of Beijing’s employment guidelines.
Observe designated work hours.
Comply with ISB’s guidelines regarding employee dress, conduct and behavior.
Demonstrate safe, ethical and responsible behavior.
As requested or assigned, participate in formal or informal staff meetings.
· Participate in other duties as assigned by the PE Team Leader or ES Principal
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of full-time work experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in Chinese and Mandarin, both written and spoken language
• Experience and/or knowledge of an inquiry-based, project-based educational setting
• Genuine interest to serve elementary school-aged children
• Demonstrated adaptability and openness to new ideas
• Ability to follow directions, be an active listener, and take initiative
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
• Appropriate computer skills
• Possess sufficient mobility to monitor students and manage student behavior in classroom and non-classroom situations.
