- Inspect plants to evaluate plant and soil conditions
- Inspect facilities and equipment for signs of despair
- Explain and enforce safety regulations to fellow employees
- Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects, diseases, and weeds
- Determine plant growing conditions in the greenhouse, including temperature control, irrigation, planting, and care schedules
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers to plants
- Care for all needs of cutting, including sticking, watering, misting, spraying, and feeding
- Position and regulate plant irrigation systems and program environmental and irrigation control
- Confer with managers and personnel regarding needed facility renovations or additions
- Confer with managers and personnel in the construction of structures such as greenhouses and benches
