$21.00 per hour

Role Summary:
The Edinburg Center is seeking Family Partners within our ICWA Team, a dynamic community-based team serving individuals ages 18-30 with a diagnosis of Autism and Mental Health needs.
Family Partners are individuals who are or have been a caregiver to a loved one who currently has or has been a recipient of mental health services. Family Partners help caregivers navigate services and the mental health system and are responsible for providing support to persons and their families in collaboration with the team, other providers, resources, and support group.
Who You Are:
DO YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE WHO CURRENTLY HAS OR HAS BEEN A RECIPIENT OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES? Are you interested supporting other caregivers with your lived experience by helping them navigate the formal mental health system?
Must have a loved one who currently has or has been a recipient of Mental Health services. BA or BS preferred. Experience in the field preferred. Experience with Autism strongly preferred. Active involvement in local community agencies that provide family support and advocacy, such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) preferred. First Aid and CPR within three months of hire required. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for providing family support and advocacy directly to Persons Served and their families in collaboration with the Integrated Team, other providers, resources and support groups. Uses his or her life experience as a parent or caregiver of an adult child with mental illness to offer support to other parents/caregivers of family members with serious mental health conditions. Acts as a bridge between the Persons Served and their families who are seeking knowledge of and input into their loved ones’ lives.

At work, we are psychiatrists, social workers, clinicians, nurses, behavior specialists, peer specialists, board certified behavior analysts, direct service staff and employment specialists.
