WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As part of our Basketball SM team, the account specialist for men’s and women’s pro basketball will manage select Sports Marketing assets and be accountable for the day-to-day service of our contracted athletes, internal Field Reps, budget management, and product deliveries. Candidates must have a team first mentality and passion for product and service. Additional skills include organization, communication, time management, and problem solving.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Responsibilities also include: knowledge of systems & product ordering, athlete preferences, financial tracking, daily communication to the asset(s) and/or Field Reps, ensuring that Nike's Sports Marketing contractual agreements are satisfied and that the right product is received at the right place, at the right time, and within budget. You'll assist internally with communicating athlete needs/requirements, feedback, and overall service & relational specifics. In this role, expectations are to manage service for our basketball athletes & internal Field Reps, while ensuring that any athlete product insights and feedback are shared within the Basketball SM team. You will act as the main point of contact for our internal Field Reps with any product related questions and inquiries. You’ll maintain a database of information for them and work hand-in-hand with our internal Field Rep’s to help with product selections, Brand activations, and overall daily athlete services. In short, serve as one of the key faces of service and first point of contact for our internal Field Rep’s.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You’ll be the point person for the day-to-day service needs of our contracted men’s and women’s pro basketball athletes. You will partner closely with the WNBA/NBA Field Reps and other Account Specialist to manage contracted athletes needs.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Marketing or related field, or 1-3 years additional experience in lieu of degree

  • 1-3 years’ successful experience in Sports Marketing building and using key relationships to drive Nike strategies. Demonstrated ability conceive/create new ideas about innovated sports marketing working relationships

  • 1-3 years' account or project management experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and presentations, including PowerPoint presentations, Excel and MS Office experience, as well as experience with Mac Keynote presentations.

  • Proficient in SEC/NOW

  • Understanding of apparel and footwear current styles and trends.

  • Ability to manage high profile communication and contractual obligations

  • Proven ability to manage budgeted product allotment

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of partners including product engineers, finance, operations, field staff, and program administrators

  • Ability to juggle multiple time sensitive (both macro and micro) priorities and communicate bad news when necessary

  • True passion, understanding and interest in professional basketball

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

  • Ability to help prepare for athlete events and potentially on site for activations/hospitality spaces
