Who we are looking for:

We seek a Principal, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion [DEI] Business Partner for our Converse and Jordan brand teams. As a leader, you will be a trusted consultant embedded deeply in the business, assess and advise on the needs of the brands, develop relevant solutions, and support execution through coaching and thought partnership. You will work closely with global cross-functional partners to provide thought leadership, be responsible for business relationships, and influence initiatives to help the business progress against its DEI goals. You will collaborate with senior leaders, hiring managers, HRBPs [HR Business Partners], and recruiting to help build dynamic ways to develop a diverse community of talent. As the subject matter authority, you’ll analyze and present talent demographics, assess data trends, and provide insights to key partners. You will be the face of the DEI team for the groups you support, cascading enterprise service offerings and helping to track and measure effectiveness.

This role is based in Beaverton, OR. where the majority of our Jordan Brand teams are located. There will be regular travel to Boston, MA where our Converse teams are located.

What you will work on:

  • Own the execution of DEI strategies with your HRBPs and business unit leaders.

  • Develop and operationalize innovative and forward-leaning global DEI solutions that enable business groups to progress on their goals.

  • Partner and build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to understand business priorities and needs and incorporate diverse perspectives

  • Analyze and use problem-solving skills to diagnose the root causes of complex challenges.

  • Provide subject matter expertise through consulting, coaching, advising, and use evidence-based standard methodologies to influence results.

  • Demonstrate servant leadership, empathy, and humanity for all and inspire others to act.

  • Support executive communications on DEI topics.

  • Partner with the larger Global DEI team to ensure the strategy for your business groups is consistent with the broader DEI strategy.

  • Collaborate with Recruiting and HRBPs to develop effective diversity recruiting strategies and programs.

  • Use data to identify trends, insights and gaps to advise strategy and relevant programming.

  • In partnership with DEI Program Managers, build employee training programs, and develop programs to attract, retain and promote diverse talent.

  • Partner with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for insights to deliver solutions to the business.

What you bring:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant total work experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert. Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: Ph.D. or Law + 8 yrs.; Masters+ 9 yrs.; Associate degree + 11 yrs.; High School + 12 yrs.

  • 8 years of demonstrable experience in Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources, or people strategy.

  • 5 years of demonstrable experience in a client services/consulting role.

  • Exposure to Business Strategy, Human Capital Strategy, and Global DEI Strategy.

  • Experience driving large-scale global organizational change through strategic global programming.

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data and translating analyses into meaningful recommendations.

  • Understanding of how to influence geographically dispersed teams.

  • Experience effectively influencing key business partners across and within business units.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong project management abilities, including prioritizing and balancing multiple projects simultaneously, under tight timelines, and within budget parameters.

  • Results-oriented self-starter who demonstrates comfort with ambiguity and can excel in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
