WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a key member of the Corporate and Professional Services team, you will report directly to the Director of IT Outsourcing, Consulting and HR Services Procurement. You will work closely with peers across the procurement team, collaborators and leaders across multiple business lines in support of services sourcing needs. This role provides the Category Lead the opportunity to interact, present, and influence Nike senior leadership to gain support for key initiatives and strategies.

We are actively recruiting for a Global Category Lead, who will be a part of a dynamic, high performing team of sourcing professionals supporting Nike’s strategic initiatives. They will be a trusted member of a global team tasked with building trusting and meaningful relationships with senior executives across multiple initiatives and business units. We are looking for someone who excels at engaging stakeholders and driving solutions.

We are interested in candidates with a strong background in Human Resources. While procurement experience is advantageous, we are willing to provide training in procurement fundamentals to candidates who demonstrate curiosity, drive, and HR expertise. A passion for the NIKE brand is essential!

  • Human Resources Expertise: Experience in HR functions such as benefits, learning and development, and talent acquisition.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to establish and advance shared visions, resulting in actionable strategies and priorities.

  • Supplier Negotiation and Management: Experience in negotiating with suppliers or outsourcing partners and managing these relationships effectively.

  • Communication and Influence: Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Analytical Decision-Making: Proven capability to utilize data for informed business decisions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Attention to Detail and Independence: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects within established timelines.

  • Positive Attitude and Proactivity: Possess a positive, proactive, and results-oriented attitude with excellent communication and analytical abilities.

  • Global Perspective: Ability to think globally and collaborate with culturally diverse international teams.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.

Preferred Experience:

  • Governance Process Navigation: Experience in navigating complex governance processes, including risk management and spend approval.

  • Contract Development Support: Experience supporting legal teams in contract development, with knowledge of standard contract structures and key terms.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop and drive category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll define the category’s scope and gather insights from global and regional strategic plans and business analysis. You’ll analyze industry trends, incorporate external insights, perform benchmarking, and develop strategies to optimize sourcing from various suppliers. We are looking for someone to implement complex strategies through partnerships to deliver initiatives and cost-saving opportunities aligned with category strategies.
