WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for an Expert Designer who is constantly asking “what’s next?” This designer is someone who is driven by the opportunity to push boundaries in order to elevate the vision of NIKE TEAM Sports with a focus on NCAA.

This individual is driven by curiosity, creativity, problem solving and leads with optimism. This role demands the ability to translate sophisticated insights into authentic narratives, while driving design solutions that fuel the future of sport apparel at Nike.

NIKE TEAM Sports is looking for a designer with a collaborative spirit and a “team first” mentality. One who has the capability to manage multiple projects effectively while implementing and upholding Nike’s brand standards.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

For Nike to deliver the best outcomes for our Elite athletes, you will be responsible for creating key concepts that will inform rich product narratives through seasonal graphic visual centers. Your work will drive the vision of key collaborators while maintaining our brand objectives in the design stories.

A typical day/week consists of working closely with your design partners. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to contributions to creative vision, leadership at team meetings and the communication of critical information to ensure design progress and success in meeting deadlines. The Expert Designer will present design concepts and seasonal initiatives to internal and external audiences, while maintaining Nike’s key design initiatives.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will report to the role of Design Director. This position will partner closely with our external licensee partners, our greater design team and cross-functional partners. As a team player, your role involves sharing in and fostering a collaborative environment where a diversity of ideas are respected and embraced, optimizing design outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to engage directly with athletes and teams to gather insights and validate design solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, 8 years or more of graphic design experience at agency or in-house setting, or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

  • Well-curated portfolio showcasing a variety of projects that demonstrate a strong, effective methodology for research, inspiration, design development, problem solving, process, and final execution.

  • Strong illustration, typography, brand identity, and color theory skills.

  • Proficiency in digital design software (Creative Suite). High Degree of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a must, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop is a plus. Must be open to working within Digital tools/3D.

  • Deep understanding of make and manufacturing processes.

  • Passion and understanding of current and emerging design trends and visual culture.

  • Master at translating insights into authentic narratives and visual storytelling.

  • Master of design craft, innovation, graphic applications, prints, processes and tools.

  • Ability to embrace diverse points of view while fostering an environment of inclusivity.
