Fortive Corporation Equipment Support Technician (Weekend Nights) in Beaverton, Oregon

Responsibilities:

Test System Builds

  • Develop outline schedule for test system build

  • Material test system bill of materials and procurement, including procurement of test instrumentation

  • Build test systems and creation/updates of assembly instructions and test control computer configurations.

  • Problem Solve and work with Test Engineering team to resolve issues as they arise

  • Validate that equipment is ready to release into production.

    Support

  • Develop and maintain documentation on test stations and train equipment maintenance technicians on the maintenance and repair of released test systems to production

  • Become the technical authority on test system design and function including production programs and diagnostic test process and reports.

  • Support equipment maintenance technicians to problem solve to resolve test system problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to Test Engineering

  • IT Support - Maintain system configurations of test station computers

  • Manage shop tools, supplies and equipment (including ESD audits)

  • Support metrological processes including calibration scheduling, data gathering and out of tolerance condition tracking.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvements on equipment and process for reliability and safe operation

  • Conduct all activities and perform all job duties with following strict alignment to established safety procedures and

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years working experience in microelectronics industry; or an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, military training in Engineering Technology or related field or similar vocational training.

  • Technical background working with electrical systems, electro-mechanical, pneumatics, vacuum pumps, test instrumentation, SMT, BGA, and wire bonding equipment.

  • Ability to perform periodic maintenance across a broad range of wafer and package handlers and test equipment and work in clean room environment

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Experience working independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative; Effectively prioritize and follow through on assignments and projects

  • Experience debugging electronic and mechanical products is required

  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Must have experience with Windows, word processing and spreadsheet software, project planning, presentation, e-mail, and flow charts

    Preferred:

  • Experience interacting with engineering on continuous improvement projects; Experience with analytical problem-solving skills to solve technical problems is required

  • Experience with operation of electronic test equipment; Ability to use and understand general test equipment including DVM, torque wrenches, force gauges, etc.

  • Experience with UNIX or Linux systems and software programming languages

  • Experience in a regulated environment, such as ISO and AS9100D

  • Proven ability to coordinate and maintain service histories on equipment

  • Experience working with equipment vendors as needed to implement expeditious repair cycles preferred

  • Proven track record to multitask, prioritize and meets deadlines in timely manner

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Direct experience with equipment support, repair and analysis in a microelectronics environment

  • Experience with flow equipment and dispensing equipment and calibration of equipment standards

  • Experience with Wafer laser trimming systems, Wire bonders. (K & S and ASM and H&K)

  • Experience supporting installation of new equipment as well as the reconfiguration of existing equipment

  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing tools

  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and Oracle

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Total Predictive/Preventive Manufacturing

    Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, you will continually be required to stand; walk; balance; crouch, stoop, twist, kneel, use hands to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, some overhead’ push/pull an average of 50 lbs. (maximum 125 lbs.). You will be occasionally required to lift more than 50lbs; climb; twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Employee will occasionally operate forklift and various lifts/hoists.

    Work Schedule:

    Weekend Nights 5:30pm - 5:00am and Weekdays 5:00am - 3:30pm
