UPMC Administrative Assistant, Intermediate (Radiation Oncology) in Beaver, Pennsylvania

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is hiring a full-time Administrative Associate, Intermediate to support our Radiation Oncology department located at Heritage Valley in Beaver, PA. This position will work a Monday through Friday, daylight schedule. No evenings, weekends, or holidays are required!

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for making and scheduling patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner, checking patients in and out, chart prep, document scanning, as well as obtaining and entering complete demographic and insurance information. This individual will also be assisting customers in person and on the phone, providing information, and communicating with various departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and provide full explanations for new patient consults, follow-up visits, and check-ins for treatment.

  • Focus on front desk duties, including handling calls for new referrals, answering phones, and managing faxes.

  • Prepare and prep charts, check insurance, assist with scheduling, and conduct weekly chart round reporting.

  • Order office supplies as needed.

  • May also perform all responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant - Associate: Performs routine clerical functions, such as copying, sorting, filing, and typing. Sets up and maintains varied office files, logs, and records office activities.Orders office supplies and maintains office equipment.Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls and messages. Responds to routine questions

  • Greets, screens, and directs visitors to appropriate staff member.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Three years experience in an administrative support role

  • Ability to perform advanced functions in word processing, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheet, presentation and database software

  • Ability to use applicable MS Suite products

  • Working knowledge of business processes and procedures

  • Knowledge of basic accounting and financial principles and functions

  • Ability to analyze data and use basic reasoning skills

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
