Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Based in Beaumont, TX, the Materials Manager will lead the Beaumont warehouse operations and logistics teams and be responsible for optimizing the materials management working with cross-functional teams. They will also have direct supervision of all warehouse and logistics team members.
This is a fast-paced job where communication with key stakeholders is essential to success. They will drive cost optimization for materials, ensure on-time delivery to customers and support our commitments to safety, compliance and quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide team leadership for all warehouse team members and oversee the packaging warehousing operations, material handling and logistics teams
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including CFS (Customer Service), Operations, maintenance, laboratory, commercial (sales) teams, procurement, S&OP, and other relevant functions, driving continuous improvement and ensuring on-time, complete, and compliant deliveries to our customers.
Develop routing strategies and communication tools/systems to ensure shipment quality and on- time delivery (OTD).
Investigate shipment errors and support service provider's service issues.
Record consumption of raw materials and timely receipt of all goods.
Design and manage Logistics & Materials Management Performance Reports
Develop procedures and documentation to meet teams job functions
Execute on projects to meet business needs, including direct material productivity, managing indirect costs and material loss targets.
Lead and manage inventory accuracy programs
Drive a safety-first culture and lead safety initiatives
Develop a delivery strategy/plan for shipments and execute in rigorous and timely manner.
Manage revenue recognition risk mitigation.
Record consumption of raw materials and timely receipt of all goods. Place Purchase Orders against Sourcing Contracts and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands
Expedite materials as needed•
Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations
Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with minimum 7 years logistics, operations, or related experience.
Minimum of 5 years of warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, transportation, operations, or related experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of experience managing 5 or more direct reports / staffing, preferably of warehouse, material handling or transportation personnel
Knowledge and Experience with Logistics practices and Import/Export compliance
Knowledge and Experience with SAP ERP or other equivalent ERP systems
APICS Certication
Ability to drive safety initiatives and lead improvements to safety culture
Customer service and results oriented
Enjoy working in a fast-paced matrixed organization
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to provide leadership and direction to Team Members
Team player, demonstrated pro-active and self-starter behavior
Ability to communicate data efficiently and effectively (verbal and written)

Advance computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP (preferably SAP)
