University Hospitals Health System Clinical Educator in Beachwood, Ohio

Description The clinical educator provides and evaluates clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts and facilitates evidenced-based practice. Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually. Supports leadership by facilitating staff's adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change. Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation. Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to include: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader. Provides patient care as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Experience with education, teaching in clinical setting. Ability to prioritize initiatives. Problem solve and think critically. Open to new ways of thinking. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups. Able to coach and develop others. Thorough knowledge and understanding of standards within area of nursing expertise. Knowledge of JC/CMS accreditation requirements. Working knowledge of the use of established clinical and preceptorship models in the development of clinical education programs. Advanced nursing skills and knowledge in area of specialty. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. Certification in a specialty clinical area or nursing professional development. This position is in Home Care Services. Monday-Friday. The hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. After the 90 day new hire orientation this position has the ability to become hybrid.
