Job Summary

FACILITIES SPECIALIST I

Performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work in designated skilled trades to include all aspects of general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing. Work as a general helper with the ability to diagnose and document issues. Has the ability to make minor repairs with limited supervision. Assists the Supervisor in overseeing contractors in the construction and repair projects to ensure they are done in a professional and timely manner.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST II

Performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work in designated skilled trades to include all aspects of general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing. Work involves equipment repair, building repair, renovation, restoration, and alteration for the designated trade skills. Works with limited or no supervision. Must be able to diagnose and repair a multitude of building maintenance issues independently. Assists the Supervisor in overseeing construction and repair projects to ensure they are done in a professional and timely manner.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST III

Performs restoration, renovation, and maintenance work in designated skilled trades to include all aspects of general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing. Ability to work independently Must be able to diagnose and repair a multitude of building maintenance issues independently with little or no supervision. Expected to be able to function in a crew leader capacity to monitor and mentor levels I and II Specialists.

Duties

FACILITIES SPECIALIST I

  • Responsible for effectively evaluating, planning, scheduling and completing all approved building repair, renovation and restoration projects as directed. Directly involved in assisting with minor project repairs including: replacement of lock sets, minor lighting and electrical repairs, electrical door maintenance, drywall, painting, and roof repair.

  • Assists in overseeing and managing outside contractors performing approved repairs, renovations and restorations.

  • Responsible for properly logging and reporting completion of all repairs or escalating major repairs to the Facility Supervisor as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST II

  • Responsible for effectively evaluating, planning, scheduling and completing all approved building repair, renovation and restoration projects as directed. Directly responsible for repairs including: general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing with heavier emphasis on trade certifications.

  • Assists in overseeing and managing outside contractors performing approved repairs, renovations and restorations.

  • Responsible for properly logging and reporting completion of all repairs or escalating major repairs to the Facility Coordinator as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST III

  • Responsible for effectively evaluating, planning, scheduling and completing all approved building repair, renovation and restoration projects as directed. Directly responsible for repairs including: general carpentry, sheetrock, painting, air conditioning, minor electrical and plumbing with heavier emphasis on trade certifications.

  • Acts as a lead specialist and is available to train, mentor, and advise other specialists with projects.

  • Assists in overseeing and managing outside contractors performing approved repairs, renovations and restorations.

  • Responsible for properly logging and reporting completion of all repairs or escalating major repairs to the Facility Supervisor as needed.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

FACILITIES SPECIALIST I

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • One (1) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of building and facilities.

  • Basic computer processing skills in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

FACILITIES SPECIALIST II

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Three (3) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of building and facilities.

  • Basic computer processing skills in Microsoft Office.

  • Possession of one (1) certification in one of the following trades. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, locksmithing and or any other building maintenance trade.

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

    Preferred:

  • HVAC Technician Certification

  • EPA Certification Universal HVAC Type I, Type II, Type III

  • BPAT

FACILITIES SPECIALIST III

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Three (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of building and facilities.

  • Basic computer processing skills in Microsoft Office.

  • Possession of two (2) certification in one of the following trades. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, locksmithing and or any other building maintenance trade.

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.

    Preferred:

  • HVAC Technician Certification

  • EPA Certification Universal HVAC Type I, Type II, Type III

  • BPAT
