POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pipe and Mechanical Planner will be responsible for the definition, development, and through-build support of the Production Work Packages. Applying extensive craft knowledge and experience to break down and sequence the engineering design within the 3D model and scheduling software. Define work requirements including budget, logic, task notes and resource, establishing interfaces in accordance with the build strategy, completions and test and commissioning.

The role demands strong communication and engagement skills, interacting with Engineering, Production, Test and Commissioning throughout the process. Facilitating formal stakeholder reviews of the plan intent and schedule at PreBuild Reviews, and Plan of the Week.

The output is a highly detailed, quality production work package with clear instructions and requirements, this to enable Production to complete the work safe, on cost and schedule. Then supporting throughout the build cycle problem solving and ensuring working on plan and risk identified.

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Material Planning

Support the material planning processes and procedures to support the build of the WCC Program.

Ability to work as independent material planner for WCC Program working closely with the Scheduling, Detail Planning, Supply Chain and Material Control functions.

Ability to review, and process Engineering Build of Material (BoM) data, developing and maturing material BoMs and requisitions in Business Central ERP

Perform material reconciliation of Advance Build of Material (ABoM) and the final Manufacturing Build of Material (MBoM) to ensure correct demand quality.

Manage Electrical stock holding, transfers, and return to stock processing within Business Central ERP.

Able to effectively communicate lead times, forecast dates and material risk for production work packages.

Proactive in problem solving working with wider business in finding solutions for material not supporting required in yard dates, presenting solutions and mitigations

Work closely with Material Control for laydown capacity analysis and throughput

Have significant experience in optimum material call off strategies and management of laydown areas to prevent stale material and over/under call off to demand.

Ability to produce and present metrics and reports such as material availability % on production activities, lead time analysis impact, and material inventory and delivery times.
