Cuellar, MD Dr. John C. Cuellar is an orthopedist in Bay Shore, New York and is affiliated with Good Samaritan University Hospital. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and has been in practice between 11-20 years. Dr. John C. Cuellar has expertise in treating knee joint injury, bursitis, arthritis, among other conditions - see all areas of expertise. Other physicians in teh practice: Dr. Christopher G. Larsen, MD Dr. John J. Lee, MD Job Details Performing comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams, interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnose and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for Orthopaedic problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals. Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, and studies including but not limited to blood and tissue specimens. Ordering or performing diagnostic studies such as but not limited to EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations including special x-ray examinations CT, MRI, and bone scans etc. Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer Medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopaedic devices as may be allowed by state legislation. Evaluate, screen and council patient on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources. Design, conduct and/or participate in research studies, manage databases, and perform quality assurance. Perform histories and examinations Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and therapy Injection of joints Fracture and post-surgical management; cast application/removal and wound care. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited PA program; Master's preferred Current NYS Physician Assistant license and registration BLS/ACLS certification NCCPA board certification is required Infection Control certification Completion of a child abuse recognition course DEA required upon hire Have excellent communication and be a team player Possess strong clinical skills Salary Range USD $66.55 - USD $89.37 /Yr.
