SONOCO: Sontheimer Offshore Catering Company Cook/Steward in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Job is offshore, cooking for offshore installations, mainly deepwater oil rigs.

Schedule is 21 days on site/7 days onshore. Work week is 84 hours per week while on site.

Duties:

Responsible for meal planning per SONOCO guidelines Responsible for preparing and serviing meals using all appropriate hygiene standards. Manages SONOCO employees on location, including training, supervision, and sceduling work assignments Responsible for maintaining SONOCO standards of hospitality, service, and cleanliness at all times Ensure all SONOCO employees are in correct uniform and meet personal hygiene requirements. Is responsible to act or report if a team member is deficient. Performs administrative work including ordering, inspections, payroll, safety meetings, and inventory of food and supplies on the location. Ensures that all paperwork is sent to the office as required. Ensures that daily housekeeping is done, either through staff or personally on smaller locations. Unloads and stores supplies of food and other supplies, supervises the SONOCO crew in this task. Maintains inventories of food and other supplies.

Qualifications:

Must have industry experience through military, hospital or healthcare service, or full-service restaurant management. Must have knowledge of full-service menu services, scratch baking experience, and nutritional menu planning. Must have good reading, writing, and comprehension. Must have general math skills that are suffiicent to perform the work described without assistance, translation, or supervision. Must have good communication skills for communicating with customer and SONOCO personnel. Must have knowledge of food coast and inventory control. No felony convictions or misdemeanor drug convictions over the last five years. Have a transportation workers identification credential (TWIC). Which is necessary to be transported to and from the job sites. Must have T-HUET water survival and SafeGulf training. Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug screen.
