Robins & Morton Group Carpenter Helper (2023-FL-062) in Bay Pines, Florida

Must have the following in order to apply:

  • 2 Year experience as a Labor/Helper in the commercial/construction field.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Provide and maintain tools including: Tool belt, hammer, tape measure, hand levels, square, chalk box, plumb bob, tie-wire reel, screw drivers, pliers, etc.
  • knowledge of interior finish items, including but not limited to: wall protection, doors and hardware, toilet accessories, cubicle curtain track, TV brackets, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

Required Screenings: Will be discussed with applicant; Drug Free Workplace.

Job Description: Help carpenters by assisting them with their projects. Duties include using, supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment. Carpenter Helpers will be required to perform a variety of duties as directed by the carpenter or RandM Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Carpenters in construction of framework, as well as, repair, and maintenance of permanent and temporary structures.
  • Assist carpenter in laying out work. Learn to perform lay-out independently.
  • Follow established jobsite safety regulations.
  • Recognize and report potential safety issues.
  • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment, to maintain jobsite.
  • Select tools, equipment and materials needed for the days task and transport them to work area.
  • Help set up and move work areas when necessary.
  • Be aware of task ahead and make sure the PPE is on hand.
  • place and finish concrete (housekeeping pads, stoops, sidewalks, etc.)
  • Insure the work area remains stocked with materials being used and tools needed.
  • Assist in demolition activities as required.
  • Restock supplies/materials as necessary; assist to lift, position, secure cutting of materials and work-pieces during installation
  • Learn to use tools to assist carpenters in measuring, cutting, assembly and installation of forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts; load, transport.
  • Unload, and furnish carpenter with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level; install all items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications
