Provides Radiation Oncology Department with physics services to ensure a high level of radiation treatment quality and patient/staff safety. Participates in radiation equipment/software quality assurance program, treatment planning procedures, brachytherapy and special procedures, ensuring radiation equipment performance/maintenance, radiation safety and staff training.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP
accredited Medical Physics program.
- Passed Part I of the American Board of Radiology
in certification examination in Therapeutic Medical Physics and eligible to
take Part II of the test to obtain this certification
- Obtains certification by the American Board of
Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics within two years of employment.
- Two years of prior work experience as a
Medical Physicist or Medical Physics Residentin full service radiation therapy center.
- Excellent computer skills with working knowledge
of networks and interfaces.
