Robert Half Medical Data Entry Clerk in Bay City, Michigan

Description We are seeking a Medical Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, tracking, and reconciling patient medical record information within our healthcare facility. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and track patient medical record information from departments or nursing units post patient discharge.

• Serve as an information resource by responding to requests for general and medical record information via phone, email, fax, or in person.

• Retrieve records as per request for patient care, studies, committees, and other requests and collaborate with other departments as required.

• Utilize facility guidelines to prep, assemble, scan, index, and file records for document storage and/or imaging.

• Analyze patient charts for physician deficiencies according to facility guidelines/bylaws.

• Assist with physician chart completion and suspension processes including validating chart deficiencies, communicating with providers regarding their incomplete records, and assisting with the distribution of reports, letters, and statistics related to delinquent medical records.

• Access the EMR (electronic medical records) system to support record completion, coding, release of information, and overall management and maintenance of the legal health record.

• Perform data collection and submission of information for birth certificate filing.

• Utilize Cerner Technologies, CRM, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and other relevant skills to perform duties efficiently. Requirements • Possess at least one year of experience in a similar role

• Demonstrable skills in Cerner Technologies

• Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

• Familiarity with billing functions within the medical sector

• Experience in claim administration is essential

• Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is required

• Ability to handle and organize medical records effectively

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times

• Must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks

• Strong data entry skills, with a focus on speed and accuracy.
