Job Description

This position is responsible for planning, engineering, and designing electricdistribution systems. The role includes determining the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development to balance economic, environmental, social, regulatory constraints, and reliability needs. Duties may include developing work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution, field engineering, identifying conflicting utilities, performing engineering and design calculations, and conducting post-construction reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop work packages for overhead and underground power distribution

• Conduct field engineering to identify project requirements

• Identify and manage conflicting utilities

• Perform engineering and design calculations

• Conduct post-construction reviews

• Solve simple, routine technical problems by following established procedures

• Develop products, solutions, and processes using basic principles, theories, and concepts within the technical specialty

• Communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering degree (civil engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering) or equivalent experience

• 0-2 years of prior relevant experience

• Experience using CAD tools

• Comfortable in both field and office settings

• Ability to walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces

• Must provide reliable transportation

• Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal

• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively in diverse teams

Work Environment

The typical workweek includes 10%-20% field inspections, 60%-80% engineering and development of design packages for construction crews, and 10% administrative tasks, planning, and customer follow-up. Required to live in or withing in an hour from Bay City, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
