Senior Postgres DBA

Position Overview:

HealthEdge is a cutting-edge software company focused on providing next-generation core administration and care coordination for transformative health plans. Within our Operations group, the Database Administration team is responsible for maintaining and administering the relational database components of HealthEdge's award winning SaaS solution hosted in our private cloud. The Senior Postgres DBA will work closely with our Engineering team to optimize the performance of our software.

What you bring:

  • Must have10+ years DBA working experience with PostgreSQL with a good understanding of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced in managing PostgreSQL on multiple operating systems includingLinux (RHEL) and Kubernetes.

  • Experienced in setting up PostgreSQL clusters and supporting databases cluster in on-prem and hybrid cloud environment, and specifically inAzure managed services

  • Strong skills inUNIX/Linux Shell Scripting

  • Experience in implementing Postgres STIG implementation, testing, and other vulnerability remediation.

  • Install,monitor and maintain PostgreSQL software, implement monitoring and alerting.

  • Experience building highly-scalable clusters, failover and hot standby solutions based on maximum availablearchitecture

  • Experience architecting, configuring, and setting up enterprise fail-over manager or similar technology for high availability solutions.

  • Experience leading efforts related to system andSQL performance tuning and assisting business process integration with various data sources.

  • Ability to work well withdevelopment and infrastructure teams in doing database design, changes and enhancement to new and existing applications

  • Proven ability to provideHigh Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.

  • Maintain operational documentation (e.g., procedures, task lists, architecture blueprints)

  • Strong Troubleshooting Skills

  • Ability tomaintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines that leads to working after hours.

  • Must have excellent communications and interpersonalskills

  • Knowledge of connection poolers (pgPoolandpgBouncer).
