Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Pay Range: 22-25/hr
Direct hire opening for a maintenance technician with a strong industrial manufacturing background. Full benefits, OT, salary of 22-25/hr. to start, matching 401k, etc.
Role (Overview of the Position)
- Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs Packaging/Processing equipment in a safe, quality, and productive manner.
Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)
Safety: Promotes a clean, safe work environment for self and coworkers.
Quality: Responsible for quality repair work, ensuring quality product is being produced on the lines, clear communication and paperwork adherence, clear understanding and following of SOP’s.
Productivity: Strives to get the maximum output and minimal downtime on packaging lines with a strong sense of urgency. Actively drives and improves Uptime and OEE with quality product.
Technical: Demonstrates knowledge of processes, equipment, products, specifications, customers, procedures, resources, and business alignment for successful completion of the job.
Problem Solving: Proven ability to recognize and think through problems, obtain and evaluate relevant facts, generate innovative alternatives, make sound conclusions and responsive decisions. Shows creativity and innovativeness.
Teamwork: Takes a professional and productive approach to working constructively with coworkers on all levels of the company. Shows integrity through talk and action. Communicates and listens effectively. Volunteers to help company and coworkers when needed. Looks for opportunities to do more. Willing to run packaging lines as needed.
Results (Expected Accomplishments)
Safety: Zero safety incidents. Clean and sanitary.
Quality: No customer complaints. High quality maintenance work. Excellent recordkeeping and communication.
Productivity: 75% OEE
Technical: Complete working knowledge of operating equipment at a high level both operationally and maintenance
Teamwork: Actively working with team to realize team goals
Advanced: Show leadership, advanced technical skills, learn to run multiple packaging lines, innovation
Requirements (Expected Proficiencies)
High School education
5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
5 years formal training in some sort of maintenance field
Strong troubleshooting skills
Strong multi-tasking and attention to detail
Simple math skills. Able to pass aptitude test
Able to effectively communicate with team and Supervisor
Physically capable of standing for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs
Able to work flexible schedule of days, nights, and weekends
Has desire to help others and looks for opportunities to help others
Positive attitude and works well in a team environment
Excellent attendance record
Self-motivated, detailed-oriented
