The LA SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking applicants for a
CERTIFIED LIFEGUARD
This is a part-time, as needed only, position.
This position is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR certifications.
Must exhibit a professional and friendly manner,
Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Job Concepts
Life Guard Duties - 90%
Remain alert and attentive while on duty.
Scan the pool for distressed swimmers and respond accordingly.
Enforce all pool rules fairly and consistently.
Respond to emergencies in an appropriate manner according to guidelines and training.
Greet and check in students and staff.
Remain attentive to signals made by other Lifeguards.
Maintain pool deck and grounds.
Additional Duties As Assigned -10%
Vacuum the pool.
Clean the pool tiles and/or skimmers.
Check the pool chemistry as required by parish and state laws and adjust the chemical balance and refer problems to the Exec Director, Residential Services.
Additional duties as assigned.
