Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System ACPE Program Educator - OLOL Pastoral Care in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
The Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Program Educator will lead the work on accreditation and supervision of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program based at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. CPE forms an important part of the hospital's Spiritual Care Department, with a goal of providing both outstanding chaplaincy education and excellent clinical chaplaincy. Reporting to the Director of Pastoral Care, the Certified Educator of CPE will be primarily responsible for the delivery of Clinical Pastoral Education to students at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Working in collaboration with the Director of Pastoral Care, the Certified Educator of CPE will also be expected to take a leading role in the recruitment of students, marketing the program in the community and proper maintenance of the hospital's relationship with ACPE, the Certified Educator of CPE will ultimately provide expert guidance and mentorship to students as it relates to professional healthcare chaplaincy and pastoral care, acting in the spirit of the Hospital's Commitment to its Core Values of Service, Reverence and Love for all of Life, Joyfulness of Spirit, Humility and Justice for all those entrusted to our care. The Certified Educator of CPE could be called upon to provide pastoral support to patients, families and/or team members. The Certified Educator of CPE relies on experience and judgment to perform the ministerial role. The Certified Educator of CPE operates independently under general supervision and within a pastoral care team.Description Minimum Required
Three to five years of experience in clinical chaplaincy. Experience supervising Clinical Pastoral Education staff.
Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited Theological Seminary or Divinity School.
ACPE Certified Educator or Certified Associate Educator or Certified Candidate Educator. Expertise in the development of training programs for both ministry and laity
Knowledge of electronic learning modalities, including video conferencing to support student learning experiences at regional sister facilities.
Certified Associate CPE Educator status achieved in CPE Educator training and/or fully Certified Educator of CPE with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. Current member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (APCE) or National Association Catholic Chaplains (NCAA).
