Robert Half is partnering with a well established but fast growing Baton Rouge company in search of a meticulous Accounts Receivable Specialist. This role involves managing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries. The successful candidate will also monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action regarding delinquent payments. Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications

• Maintain accurate records of customer credit

• Resolve customer inquiries related to credit

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly

• Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Reconcile daily and monthly bank reports

• Maintain a cash spreadsheet by entering all cash activity and reconciling to bank balances

• Create payment records for checks, wires, and ACH credit transfers

• Apply customer payments to invoices, balancing to remittance advices

• Conduct credit checks for new customer verification

• Monitor customer credit worthiness and communicate significant changes to management

• Process customer refunds

• Assist with month-end close by reconciling accounts receivable, unapplied cash, and bank accounts to the general ledger

• Support the billing and collections staff as required

• Assist with cash management and forecasting.

Requirements

• Proficiency in account reconciliation is required

• Must have practical knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to handle cash collections effectively

• Experience with commercial collections is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary
