Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for a versatile and experienced Accounting Manager in Baton Rouge!

Interested candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of 3 years in accounting leadership, with direct oversight of the accounting operation and direct report staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous oversight responsibility of accounting function, including month-end close, annual audit preparation, financial statements and reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and assets/liabilities management.

  • Demonstrated success in accounting/finance leadership, with an emphasis in employee development, training, and organizational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assumes authority of monthly close procedures, including final review.

  • Prepares monthly financial statements and financial reporting.

  • Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliation.

  • Assumes final review and approval for direct report staff deliverables, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, financial statements, and month-end close.

  • Ensures internal compliance with U.S. GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilizes accounting software to properly document financial transactions and generate reports.

  • Prepares supporting documentation for annual company audit.

  • Implements and enforces internal controls across the organization.

    Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Accounting or Finance Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years full cycle accounting experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years in accounting leadership, with responsibility for direct report staff.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with an emphasis on employee development.

  • Previous experience in annual audit preparation and organizational compliance.

  • Expertise in asset liability management and financial statement preparation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage all monthly close procedures.

  • Proven success in accounting operations oversight, with an emphasis on department efficiency and performance.

  • Demonstrated success in change management, organizational efficiency, and staff direction.

  • Strong analytical aptitude.

  • Exceptional communication, both written and verbal.

  • High level integrity and professionalism.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and strict deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 - Advanced Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Netsuite ERP accounting software.

  • Education Industry experience.
