Lockheed Martin Availability Engineer Sr. in Bath, Maine

Ship Integration and Combat System Availability/Installation Engineer is responsible for overseeing Post Delivery Availabilities and installation of the Combat System Equipment during new construction. The position requires 40% temporary and extended travel to Moorestown, NJ, Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL, San Diego, CA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Yokosuka, Japan.

US Citizenship is required. You must have a Final DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position.

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards related to bonding and grounding equipment on Navy Ships, MIL-STD-1310, MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-901D (Shock), and ship cooling systems and components.

Knowledge of interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, major signal flows, and USN shipbuilding specifications.

Ability to read and comprehend production drawings.

Preferred experience as an installation engineer in ship repair facilities or equivalent industrial environments.

Preferred experience with equipment engineering change installations (Field Changes, Engineering Changes, ORDALTs, SHIPALTs, Field Modification Bulletins)

Frequent travel over 50%

• Candidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement

Desired Skills:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.

Preferred experience as an installation engineer in ship repair facilities or equivalent industrial environments.

Preferred experience with equipment engineering change installations (Field Changes, Engineering Changes, ORDALTs, SHIPALTs, Field Modification Bulletins)

Preferred operational experience in the Aegis fleet.

Preferred experience with cable (both copper and fiber) fabrication and testing.

Preferred experience with soldering and wire wrap techniques.

Preferred experience with ship support systems (HP/LP Air, dry air, 400Hz, CND/SPY/Sonar Cooling Systems)

Experience with providing technical leadership and working in a multi-organization team to accomplish a common goal.

Preferred experience in design, integration, and/or installation engineering with knowledge of CG47, DDG 51, and/or FMS Aegis or other USN surface ship combat system equipment and land site simulators.

Preferred ability to read and comprehend military specifications for electrical and optical cable, connector, backshell, and system design, integration, and integrity testing

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
