Job Summary To provide patient care under the direction of an RN in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of White River Medical Center and contribute to overall facility and unit improvement
Qualifications:
Certification as a Nursing Assistant: BLS, High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
Position Responsibilities:

Maintains clean, stocked and organized rooms and work environment
Responds appropriately to urgent and emergent situations
Properly and safely operates and manages equipment
Compliance with Fall Precautions and Infection Prevention Protocols
Ability to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner

Appropriately and clearly communicates to charge nurse, physicians and co-workers
Treats all other staff, patients and families with respect and dignity
Maintains a positive attitude.
Notifies nurse of any findings out of normal range
Verifies with charge nurse when leaving unit
Dependability/Initiative
Work and documentation is accurate and complete
Appropriate scanning of supplies and patient arm bands
Education/Development
Present at staff meetings and in-services
Completes unit meetings and posted education
Hospital/Departmental Policies and Procedures

Guest Relations
At all times maintains patient privacy and abides by HIPPA
Appropriate telephone and call light etiquette
AIDET when approaching patients
Patient Care
Follows appropriate process for admitting a new ICU patient
Monitors all alarms and call lights promptly and appropriately
Assists with meals, bathing, ADL and any other patient care measures required
Monitors temperatures, weights, I&O and accu-checks as ordered and assist with any other required patient monitoring and document appropriately
Assists with any patient transfers and discharges
Performs purposeful rounding on patients, complete PCT worksheet and document on white boards
Attendance
Punctual arrival for scheduled shift and present for shift huddle
Abides by dress code policy
Wears proper identification
Follows and understands policies
Essentials:
Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
