Description
Our production client has a brand-new opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Batesburg, South Carolina area. This individual will play a key role in the company’s financial operations, responsible for maintaining and reconciling all accounts, supporting audit preparation and period-end closings, and managing the accounting functions for both the purchasing and sales departments.
Responsibilities:
Develop systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial data to maintain and reconcile all company accounts.
Oversee vendor invoice processing and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
Manage corporate credit card activity, including expense reports, reviewing statements, and ensuring timely submissions.
Perform reconciliations for general ledger, accounts payable, pre-paid, and non-trade accounts.
Conduct inventory reconciliations and physical counts during period-end closings.
Prepare and issue payments to vendors and suppliers for all companies.
Provide guidance to the accounts payable/receivable team.
Assist in budget planning and recommend process improvements.
Record daily customer payments, generate monthly statements, and issue credit/debit memos as needed.
Work with the Financial Controller to prepare monthly financial statements and assist with audits.
Monitor and reconcile daily bank balances for all entities.
Support executives with ad hoc tasks and special projects.
Report discrepancies, unpaid invoices, and recommend holds on customer items or vendor payments as needed.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor.
Expertise in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting.
Deep understanding of cost accounting methods and practices.
Proven track record in account reconciliation, ensuring both accuracy and compliance.
Ability to effectively manage and monitor bank balances.
Skilled in variance analysis, with the ability to identify and explain discrepancies in financial results.
