Description

Our production client has a brand-new opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Batesburg, South Carolina area. This individual will play a key role in the company’s financial operations, responsible for maintaining and reconciling all accounts, supporting audit preparation and period-end closings, and managing the accounting functions for both the purchasing and sales departments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial data to maintain and reconcile all company accounts.

• Oversee vendor invoice processing and payments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.

• Manage corporate credit card activity, including expense reports, reviewing statements, and ensuring timely submissions.

• Perform reconciliations for general ledger, accounts payable, pre-paid, and non-trade accounts.

• Conduct inventory reconciliations and physical counts during period-end closings.

• Prepare and issue payments to vendors and suppliers for all companies.

• Provide guidance to the accounts payable/receivable team.

• Assist in budget planning and recommend process improvements.

• Record daily customer payments, generate monthly statements, and issue credit/debit memos as needed.

• Work with the Financial Controller to prepare monthly financial statements and assist with audits.

• Monitor and reconcile daily bank balances for all entities.

• Support executives with ad hoc tasks and special projects.

• Report discrepancies, unpaid invoices, and recommend holds on customer items or vendor payments as needed.

  Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Supervisor.

• Expertise in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting.

• Deep understanding of cost accounting methods and practices.

• Proven track record in account reconciliation, ensuring both accuracy and compliance.

• Ability to effectively manage and monitor bank balances.

• Skilled in variance analysis, with the ability to identify and explain discrepancies in financial results.
