On-Site Quality Control Representative
This position will provide oversite of all QC activities of Robinson Construction self-performed work and monitoring activities of Robinson sub contracted work. The work includes but not limited to structural steel erection, grouting, and setting of material handling equipment (conveyors, bins and dust collectors, Etc.)

Essential Responsibilities
• Provide assistance to the Project Managers and Project Superintendent as needed to ensure that the company’s scope of work is built in accordance with the project plans and specifications
• Have a good working knowledge of computer systems and be able to learn all programs used by the company to preform QC Tasks
• Coordinate and direct inspection work performed by Robinson Inspectors on self-performed work. Self-perform inspections and witness test as required • Coordinate 3rd party special inspections as required by the contract documents
• Monitor and inspect subcontractor work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and codes when applicable
• Coordinate permit inspections as require by city, county, or state agencies
• Conduct internal/external quality control audits. Define corrective measures for problem areas and insure implementation
• Communicate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections and meetings
• Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied
• Report all concerns to the Corporate QC Manager, Superintendent, and Project Manager
• Maintain Quality Records and assist in developing turnover documents
• Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
• Review current standards and policies
• Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation
• Ensure all legal standards are met
• Be available to relocate to the project area and work on weekends when the job requires weekend activity
• Technically direct, instruct, and train inspectors in performance of required inspections
• Attend and participate in weekly QC meetings with the Corporate Office
• Provides technical training and coaching to welders. May test and evaluate applicants and employees for welding certification or excise certification on poor performers
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager and/or as requested by other department members to accomplish team efforts
Education / Experience
• Must have a minimum five (5) years related construction experience (within the last ten years) as QC/QA Manager on construction projects of similar magnitude, scope, and complexity as this project
• Working knowledge of codes (ACI, ICC, AWS and ASME), ability to determine acceptability and reject ability of work based on assigned criteria
• ICC S1 (Structural Steel & Bolting) Special Inspectors preferred, must have a working knowledge of structural steel inspection with bolted joints, including the use of a Skidmore and various means of pretension these connections in accordance with the requirements of RCSSC and AISC codes
• OSHA 10 (within 6 months of hire)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Knowledge of construction industry quality control concepts and processes
• Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to identify and resolve complex issues
• Excellent listening and professional oral and written communication skills
• Must be proactive, use individual initiative, follow assignments through to completion, and be attentive to detail and deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven record as a team player
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills
Continuing Education
• Establish goals with individual Career Development Plan and continue with professional education and development including:
o Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
o Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work at a computer in an office environment.
• Ability to work on construction sites which may require:
o Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)
o Stoop, kneel, crouch, lay, bend or squat and/or crawl
o Certified in and proficient with operating Aerial lift on project sites
Job Site Working Conditions:
• May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles
• May be exposed to loud noises
• May work near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery
• May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
Other:
• Travel will be required; requires valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Overtime may be required
