DEPUTY CLERK Clermont County Probate Court Application Due By: September 30, 2024 Status: Full-Time, 40 hours/week Monday -- Friday 8:00am -- 4:30pm (hours may vary) Non-exempt, Unclassified Pay: Negotiable depending on qualifications/experience JOB OVERVIEW: We are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment to serve the public at Probate Court. This position is part of a team and will require you to work together and do so with a high level of accuracy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Process descendants estates, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, commitments, adoptions, marriage licenses, name changes and other probate matters • Assist court personnel in locating files and documents • Process new cases and incoming information by assigning a case number and entering it into the computer system • Review documents for completeness and appropriate signatures • Prepare folders and index documents for scanning • Verify compliance with applicable regulations • Review, evaluate and process a variety of files prior to hearings • Schedule hearings and notice parties • Oversee Court attendance • Monitor compliance with pertinent laws, statutes and rules of practice • Assist Judge with research materials and consults with Judge on research matters as required • Prepare file notices for the Judge • Review or supervise review of fiduciary accountings • Send citations and notices on delinquent cases • Act as a liaison with other state and governmental agencies • Respond to calls and e-mail requests • Prepare correspondence and memos • Provide staff training and assistance • Ensure the proper receipt and deposit of all court funds • Act as a billing and accounts receivable coordinator • Prepare and maintain financial records and reports for probate administration as well as Supreme Court reports WHAT WE OFFER: • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance* (single to family plan options, begins after 30 days of employment) • Generous paid time off including vacation (after six months of employment), personal days, sick leave, and 12 paid holidays. • Life Insurance - $25,000 at no cost to employee • Long-term Disability • Employee Assistance Program -- Counseling Services (up to 5 free visits per year) • Tuition Assistance • Flexible, tax-free spending accounts for costs related to healthcare and dependent care • Participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) (employees contribute 10% of salary and employer contributes 14%) • Healthy Work Environment - Clermont County provides a Smoke-Free and Drug-Free workplace.
